Can I borrow a feeling?

if it's not british, it's already on thin ice.

i'm pretty sure i've been working eight hour days, which is basically why i don't remember what i have accomplished. banana bread is being made right now. let me think...oh yea friday night i stayed in even though tehre was a party because i didn't feel like standing around and wanting to leave, that's the previous mentality i used to have, but i don't give a rats ass because i had been standing all day long. so i talked to glen and accomplished not much at all, i could be completely wrong and making this up though. but probably not.
saturday, i worked 9 until 230 then i went right on over to the dentist office, i hadn't seen my dentist since the horrific incident with his wife, so it has been quite a while. i guess i should have gone once in there but i didn't. there are minor things which have to be touched up in my ol mouth and t his will be done in the end of september, before my birthday because then it's still under the dental plan, oh we're a sneaky family. not really. i got a new toothbrush. and watermelon flouride.
i've been listening to a lot of the clash as well as pulp. both very good bands. however i'm a little impartial to britain, i'm going there on thursday. holy shit, it's not even in numbers anymore, it's thursday.
after the dentist, as i assumed he wouldn't call and i wouldn't go out to cwack, i had made previous plan arrangements with roger, those went through. soon after getting back roger came over and we listened to some hardcore 7 inches, i wasn't really feelin them. before we knew it we had to be back at his house cause sean was on his way to get us. so we went through new west because of the crazy traffic that would be on the highway 1. it was at seylynn hall in north van.
the show started a while after we were already there, and for some reason, possibly "antrax or guns" could have been in my purse so they wanted to take it, and i was like "no?" and walked up anyways. having paid of course, only assholes don't pay for shows. especially with benefits, and this one had a cause .. to help young women .. like a shelter home for young women dealing with recovery...or attempting to do it safely.
i was surprised at the quality of the show, there were five bands who played: shook ones, break the chain, the answer and blue monday are the names that i remember. blue monday i liked the least, they had really great energy and weren't arrogant because they support everyones choices even though they are straight edge and i respect that, but i just didn't get a feel for the vocals, which is usually why i don't dig hardcore tuneage. ironically they covered wasted by black flag. and a lot of kids sung along.
shook ones i enjoyed the most, i got their demo tape for three dollars. it wasn't super hard and all screaming. well not even screaming, it wasn't some low voice box that is making random grunting sounds, so that was really good. break the chain, andy recorded them a few weeks ago, so they thanked him.
i find it difficult not to laugh when seeing people "hardcore "dance" " and i'm sure i'm not the first one to come to such a conclusion that they look like angry crabs who are trying to trip each other. but they really do. i don't quite understand how that works out... when i saw some people, it's like, you can't just up and start doing the shit you have to get practice some how. so i just kept thinking about how (seeing as it's too loud to do that inside) one would be in their backyard trying to get some practice in and having their mom look out the window and be like "what is my son doing?" that's probably not the case at all, but it's how i think of it. and that is that.
the show was over by 10 45 and then everyone left, warren, shawna, andy, amanda, lizz, roger sean and myself. us three went to boston pizza. getting stuck at restaurants isn't too fun when there is one thing on the menu you can eat, if you're lucky. such as i was last night. plain ol chips with plain ol salsa. it was fine and good, the chips were a little hard...but no worries. we were home just after one i guess. then i passed soon thereafter. now i'm making banana bread and that's about the end of that chapter.
working 230 to 630 and then it's down to vancouver with bronwen and roger to see napoleon dynamite, about fuckin time.
