jump in the pool

Very stoked to have managed to remember the name of the group Friendly Fires after having heard them through some friends I made in Manchester over the past weekend, who purchased their new album on a wander through the town centre.

I kept thinking it was called Firefly something but with the help of trusty google and doing a new release uk album search, here we are and I am most definitely enjoying it to its fullest potential.

Otherwise, really have just been watching a shitload of movies over the past few days, as most friends work during the day and all. (Me, you and everyone we know. Bubba Ho-Tep. Borne Identity. Matchstick Men. Mystic River. Return To Oz. American Psycho. Session 9)

But I am getting extremely excited about going over to Fredericton next Tuesday. Spoke with my friend Andrew, who I'll be staying with, and he said it's looking promising that in the first two weeks of October we'll take a road trip over to Toronto where I'll then fly out from. It'll be pretty gnarly, and an experience to remember I'm sure. Here's hoping there'll be an iPood connection thinger in the car we drive in! First proper road trip!

Unfortunately since I'm not able to purchase music right now (due to being ridiculously broke) I am locating it by other means! and managing to acquire a good sum through my friend, Dan's collection as well as online.

Also really digging We Are Scientists. The Hives. Be Your Own Pet.

Been reading up quite a bit on veganism in conjunction with osteoporosis and bone density being lower due to less calcium intake but it's actually looking like due to Westerners diets being overly enriched with proteins and calcium (up to 70% more than the body needs) that meat and dairy actually force your body to deplete a lot more than you should lose, where as with a vegan diet you don't have as high of a protein and calcium intake, so the body doesn't have to rid itself of as much. Hence, veganism rocks. I wonder if my statement is logical, it's hard to paraphrase, but I've read over several pages in the last few days anyways.

I think it's time for vegetable soup.
