oh oh oh what a night!
technically, not what a night so much as what a day. it was going pretty decently, i rode my bike to work after an unfullfilling 4 and a half hour sleep (which was worth the staying up, as per usual) and i got to hang out with my friend/co-worker dacen; he wants to go to japan with me next summer. i'll see how the money situation is at that point, if only i could afford it, japan is definatly one of the places i'd like to check out, probably more than just for a week or two though, there'd be just so much culture change and all the awesomeness of it, wow i can't wait for experiencing that one, oh boy!
i only had to work 3 and a half hours.. and since i thought that i had to teach piano i was in one hell of a rush to get to travelcuts so that i could pick up my ticket to london and inquire about this "full monty" tour that sounded intriguing. it is 349$ and brings me from london to wales and scotland to london all in seven days. it might be insanely action packed, as i get to see all sorts of landmarkish places, like where most of harry potter was filmed.. that's what i'm talkin about! actually i never really saw the films or read the book, actually i think i saw part of the second one on the way back from europe last year. anyways. i got that ticket. it's on the monday after i get there which is the 16th goes until the 23rd. then back to london until my flight out on the 28th.
it kind of sucks that i'm going by myself, obviously sucks isn't the right word, becuase how could anything suck in london. i'm sure it'd be a tad nicer with the accompaniment of a friend. but i've definatly learned that if you wait for someone else to travel you'll never get to go. it's all too true, so i'm taking my own innitiative. right, i bought this full monty tour package which should be exciting, as it's with radical tours. how could a tour be bad with a name like that!
so i rode my bikey back up to brookswood, and yesterday i had gotten this thing with my name on it saying there was a letter for me to pick up at the post office, i thought it would be something special, a surprise maybe from a dear old friend! i sign for it, after waiting in line for 15 minuts of course. and walk home thinking, what the hell is this? open it up to find out it's a notice of prohibition.
apparently, due to my unsuccessful driving record in the past 5 years (technically 3 because i haven't had my liscence for that long) that some lady who is head of some icbc related place feels that it'd be in the best interest of everyone if they just took away my liscence from me for two months. atleast i'm not driving right now, but it's completely uncool. i'll have to get a new liscence and pay all the stupid fees again which will come to 130$ that's garbage.
my unsuccessfull driving record of points probably stems from the accident i was in on july 19, 2002. when i was following someone too close and hit them because they didn't put on their fucking signal and i thought they were going too slow so i went to change lanes and they stopped so as i moved to do the lane switchal i hit them. blah blah blah, ticket, smashed front end of car a few points on the driving record. two days before i went to toronto in april, so the 13th, i got a speeding ticket going up the hill on 200th becuase i was in a rush. i had gotten off of work at 3, had to teach piano at 330 and go to the bank all in that span of time. oh, and deal with the officer who gave me the 138$ ticket. i don't think i made it to the bank, come to think of it!
whatever, now i've got no liscence, atleast i'm not in a detrimental situation where i have to drive though. and the car's for sale but no one wants to buy it haha. in any event, icbc should change their slogan to "drive safe...or else we'll royally fuck you" it's so true. i'm not driving in any murderous killing rampages, just going where i need to. but, fuck it.
i come home to teach piano, but the father phones 10 mins before the lesson to say janelle is sick, so she won't make it to the lesson today. okay, now i have to figure out how to get to the other students house for 8pm because now i'm not allowed to drive there. thankfully my mom drove me, with the help of a little green (if we lived in america, which we don't .. so purple..ten dollars for this week and next. blah) i made some pizza, watched seinfeld and did a little computer chattage while listening to music really loudly.
i think that instead of going to school in september that i really just want to go somewhere else and do something different, job wise. i want to just up and move to a new location, maybe with no one i know at all, start anew. get a different job because i have to to survive. there's motivation when you know it's completely necessary, really, there is.
i will apply to mount royal still, just incase things don't go how i want them to and maybe i can get in to that school atleast if things fuck over. i need to experience more of life before i become more bitter, although i've been doing progressionally better, maybe it's due to the being up until 4 am every night and only 5 hours or less of sleep? i don't really know, but something is mildly different, i think in the good way.
atleast it was ...until my boss phones me tonight saying i can't ask for both days of the weekend off and i have to decide between friends and money. my mom agreed money is more important than friends for me too. i'm glad that i don't have to decide, phew that'd be a tough one. life or friends. not that i have a lot of friends, but that doesn't mean i like having no life either! however, i do like the few friends i have, when i actually get to see them. so...yeah. today sure was something else.
there's a cold breeze coming in through the window, it's nice.
i really want to go camping this summer, on more than one occasion. i wonder if having a job will make that dream not a reality. i'd like to go to squampton (aka squamish) and tofino. for bc. maybe i'll make it somewhere else too. i'll just save my money and something is bound to work out. and i must be stoked for london, i'm going to fucking london. okay, that's rad. but it's still a few months away.. do i want them to come really fast? probably. i get to stay at a rad hostel, and hang out with glen for 5 days too. that's always funny. i don't usually write much, but i think there was a lot on my mind tonight. in conclusion, there will be a move of some sort in my returnal from britain, guaranteed. you hear me?
