guns for show, knives for a pro.
so chris sais i haven't posted in a while, he's in fact correct.
so here we are. andy has a meeting with a job prospect for photography so i'm going to wait for him then we'll be out to see dodgeball. which seems like an odd idea since the movie has been out for ages at home. gor ages and ages and i never wanted you, and now that you're retired i can't have you. and it's funny how it works out like that.. but now the forbidden fruit must be tasted. sorry went off. i've done that a few times today. saw swans swimming today and i couldn't help but say "what are you looking at SWAN!" from Billy maddison in case you are a fool.
so, since i met up with rob. what has happened. that was last friday, so a lot has happened. as it's now tuesday. i'm in lincoln. staying with andy at his flat. there are 2 other flatmates at the minute. i met adam this morning, he's a friendly guy, pretty decent lookin as well. i met the other dude, andy (also) yesterday, he works on grand theft auto the 4th game. looking on ways to improve it and such of the sort. so basically he plays the game endlessly before everyone else. i know a lot of people who would be stoked on his job!
this morning i watched lock stock and two smoking barrels. amazing film, i'd seen it before but not recently. then we watched quite a few episodes of family guy from season three. then we went to the corner store about 10 steps out the front door and i got a phone card then called back in time to mumsy and talked for a while. and to sara as well.
yesterday, woke up in a nice double bed all to myself. beautiful really. showered, in a non communal shower! and we hung ou a while, watched snatch then went grocery shopping with andy, got some foods. came back watched thirteen. wierd film, i'm not sure if i liked it but i wouldn't buy it. at the same time andy made this stir fry and rice thing, it was really good. ketchup on rice. sorry, tomato sauce on rice. of course. we hung out with the flatmates who just moved out at their new place and were amused by their dwarf hampster named hammy. that was the day in a nutshell.
day before that, being sunday. rob and i hung out pretty late in the night time we had previously went for a walk a little after midnight maybe and then sat on park benches until 2am ish. all the time i spent with him the weekend i really enjoyed.
so once i actually awoke in the morning we just met up in the hostel reading room and i got my bags sorted out and he listened to some cds of mine, well one really. ima robot. and then put my bags in the luggage room and headed about town.
we went down to notting hill carnival which was insanely busy. so many people every which direction. saw a few floats, walked slowly through crowds of people.
had a little seat, he had some ridiculously over priced, but i 'm sure decent, corn for £1.50 then we sat under a tree while it rained. then walked about away from the carnival after having seen only one float. we went to some near by record stores, he got a pavement album. then we sat in a near by park again! and on our way back to finding the tube station i ran in to nick from new zealand who i met in edinburgh. that totally blew my mind. the odds of running in to someone on the wildly packed streets of london. especially since i had only met him at the hostel in edinburgh a week and a bit before. it was good to see him again though, even just for a bit.
we walked by some good, some fairly bad art on the streets. and then went out to the same restaurant (hare and tortoise) that glen and i had been to three times previously. it was still just as good. unfortunatly no more. then i got on the train towards lincoln, and he to grantham.
i got off in stevenage though, as planned then andy's friend matt met up wi th me there and we went to hollywood bowl and sat around and had a drink talked about films and canada and music and the likes. then went to this chips place and he got us food. very nice of him, as i wasnt expecting that at all. then we drove back to the train station place where the bowling alley was and he got us some drinks from mcdinks and we sat there awating andys arrival. he came up eventually with his girlfriend vicky and we drove to lincoln listening to ni ck harper and tenacious d.
the day prior. being saturday. once again rob and i had been out late the night of his arrival, until about 230 again. so i kinda slept in a bit this day but not too much, however i did miss free breakfast hostel. which was just bread anyways.
we got some flapjacks from the corner store and headed out to the train station so i could get my tickets to lincoln and after that we went directly over to the animation festival. i quite enjoyed some of the short films and otehrs i didnt totally undersntand but that didn't bother met at all. we went around to regents park for a while and found some food, went to record stores but didn't buy anything. then went back to the festival and watched the zogfilm.
that was a three part thing. i did quite like that. it was to do with these zogs from planet zog who were exactly like humans except their faces were on their crotches and their penises...orfices. were on their necks. and they were all out to destroy each other but no one knew who was a zog or not because they could put on a mask. it was interestingly done. the writer of it was there for q and a after as well. but we didn't watch all of it cos we wanted to get tickets to see the un cut version of donnie darko that was playing just a bit after that. it had an extra 21 minutes of film time with about 4 or 5 extra scenes added in that were cut out in the final version. duh thats the meaning of un cut! i really enjoyed that as well. sounds like i've just enjoyed everything pretty much. no real complaints at all.
and that's the end of that chapter i guess...we'll go see dodgeball tonight and i'll probably watch another film tomorrow and maybe even the day after but i don't mind at all, it's somewhere in doors to sit, which i'm not used to and some privacy with a cool guy. and that's that. all's well.
